That as of the update moments ago the berzerker is working appropriately according to my initial dummy testing.

In addition I have noticed that all phantasms are correctly displaying retaliation if traited.

edit: They also appear to be giving each other health regen because of traits…intended?

Except they managed to break the workaround for the bug where phantasms just stand there twiddling their thumbs before their 1st attack (phantasmal fury). My zerker does the right damage, but now hes like to implode before he even gets an attack off…..yay?

I can safely say that Anet AGAIN introduced a new bug when fixing an old one. My Izerker is dead before he does anything half the time and thats with the fury trait.

2. Phantasms and not only just Berserker now suffers a delay before they will initiate their first attack. Often times they’ll get destroyed or significantly damaged due to delayed Signet of Illusions not granting them health bonus before phantasms initiate their first attack.

The current state of Phantasms is even worse than before. At this point, I’m really feeling frustrated by this.

After reading today’s patch note, I was wondering if I could at last use the build I’ve always wanted with regen/fury/retaliation phantasm for pve but from what I’m reading, if our phantasms are even more messed up than before, I guess I won’t bother. It’s really disheartening.

I also just tested this out and it seems very inconsistent. I went to heart of the mists and:

- There is a delay before it attacks now, regardless of traits as others have mentioned
- Three times I had the berserker just stand in place spinning rather than spinning through the target and moving (this seemed rare).
- And the attacks seemed odd sometimes hitting once, sometimes twice and sometimes three times on a target.

Will only take 3 weeks to fix like the last bug.
Going by their recent accomplishments in regards to fixing bugs, I feel pretty confident that after next “fix” the phantasms no longer attack enemies but instead they turn on us, now with new and improved damage and attack speed.

I can honestly say (after almost 15 years of playing mmo’s) that the bug fixing in this game is the worst I have ever seen. Ofcourse me playing a Mesmer AND a Necro doesnt really help.

At least I can now have Phantasmal Fury and Vengeful Images together and they are given to my phantasms as soon as they spawn. Also, I’m glad they fix Phantasmal Disenchanter’s summon range issue. Phantasmal Healing works with each phantasm giving regeneration to each other.

I’m just happy that my phantasms can have more than 1 boon from my traits and gives me incentive to go into Inspiration without worry of buggy minor traits when having Phantasmal Fury. I may have Phantasmal Haste or Persisting Images in my build. ^^

~1.5-2sec delay on “Phantasmal Berserker” so he is dead a lot times with 0 dmg(even with no skilled buffs same delay),dmg more random now,overall dps of GS droped even vs 1 npc
Edit: yes 0 dmg since retaliation buff does not work so fast(Chieftain Utahein test)

Crit chance is at 58%, +Crit dmg is at 37 and Attack is at 2.7k. The damage output and inconsistency nature have not been corrected. Together with delayed responsive phantasms upon summoning introduced by today’s patch, this is a severe issue.

This delay bug(or intended? aren’t really sure) was there since gs auto buff patch notes and this new patch seems to broke our gimmicky workarounds. I have no words. GS dps goes down and down with each patch.

On the other hand, our shiny mantra heal spec is even more shiny now, with all these phantasms working as walking boon machines.

Phantasmal Healing works immediatly, if you’re close enough to it and the Berzerker damage isnt fixed, you’re just getting lucky (or the rest are getting unlucky). Its better though, I havent gotten any incidents where the izerker only hit the enemy once whereas I got plenty of those before.

I’ve had the feeling that this is deliberate as well. As I said earlier, now we have two attack checks, one due to the blind/dodge/aegis ect changes last patch and if those fail the person is now given time to see our phantasm and decided if they want to dodge or not.

Wow my dps just dropped big time with this bug. I would rather have the version of iberzerker from earlier then the one we see right now with this patch. It dies more then 50% of the time before it even gets off an attack.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the berserker’s swings supposed to hit at least once?

I’m testing on the stationary golems in the mist right now, and every now and then the swings from the berserker completely miss and deal no damage at all. Other swing-by’s are completely random. Sometimes it hits once, sometimes twice or three times. Tried on the drakes south of LA, same result. On the dummies in LA it hits 4 times which is probably due to the phantasms being anchored to the dummy, so I guess three is the maximum hits the berserker can do on a single target.

But no hits at all? Was it like that before nov 15 patch?

edit: The swing-by’s that miss and deal no damage still apply cripple for some reason.

All phantasms now have a stupid delay, making them null in WvW or PvP on a moving target or if there is any AoE damage in the area. iBerserker is now completely kittened and useless. iWarlock is at least ranged, but still this bug could not have possibly been intended.

So to do our attacks we have spend time casting instead of attacking, hope the SUMMON doesn’t get dodged or blocked (lolwut) or one of the many spamable sources of blind doesn’t get throw our way, have the phantasm appear wait for it to attack, hope it doesn’t get blinded, dodged, blocked or killed. and then in the case of iBerserker we do all this for hardly any damage at all.

How is this balanced? How are these patches so bad? How can they be this bad at running a game?

The sad thing is that we will probably get nerfed again next patch. This absolute crippling of the class probably still won’t be good enough for the pvp whiners as they just want to spam their skills, they don’t want to think.

easy fix would be:
summon works every time,iZerker spawns @ mesmer -> teleports to old spawn pos(stucks @ walls etc like all teleports) -> fires whirlwind attack(4 virtual shots from pos1 to pos2 for dmg calc). if they would spawn with the buffs the delay would not be needed.

Edit: 4 virtual shots → 1 shot collision test(with width ~ the whirlwind size) + 4 times dmg calc,blind could be transfered from mesmer to the spawned illu

Phantasms are illusions, I think the word you were looking for is clones <.< In all seriousness though I think you are right. My build will definitely be changing after this patch until things get back to normal. No reason to throw a hissy fit and frustrate yourselves even more fellow mesmers. Just take solace in the fact that you’ve probably got your 60 bucks worth out of this game, keep Anet informed on the issues, and wait patiently for things to get better. Hopefully they will. Until then I’ll change my build and keep having fun with my alts.

It’s so sad and not going to change anytime soon anyway so it’s better to laugh of it really. Been some time I forfeited and just play my guardian. I have an ascended ring waiting for my mesmer in case it get fixed one day though. sigh
