Just wanted to share and hear thoughts on a build that I came up with. Got sick of the 100b lolspam :P I use this strictly for dungeons and pve. Most of the utilities I chose are to provide regen and buffs for ur allies in dungeons and took banner regen instead of shouting heals because it heals alot more over time.

Basicly it’s a wvw build but I do also dungons with it. I use to take “Fear Me” instead of “On My Mark”. It’s much more usefull in wvw imo. Regenration sucks, u have to skill healpower – makes u useless apart from regeneration. Additional it overwrites weaker regeneration boons from other ppl. That makes it less effective because some classes have easy regenration boon. Anyway, no one realy needs this ticking heal: the only dmg u get ticking are conditions – better use condition remove instead of ticking heal to compensive. Rune of soldier grants condition remove from allies too – nice support apart from 1455 heal per shout – without healpower equipment which would make us useless in any other aspect.

With Pve equipment i got more than 3,4k armor, about 24k health, 30% crit chance without rage, but u always have rage with this build, so effective u have 50% crit chance – with buff food and stacked sigills I have 56% crit chance + 20% from rage. Crit dmg I got +45%. Attack is at 2950 without any might – but u always got might with this builds so effective it’s easy over 3k.

At all, powerfull attack stats, awesome deffensive stats, much CC, nice Heal from shouts also for allys and nice condition remove. Only thing sucking: no stability.

To answer your question: Yes all those adrenalin for F1-Skills. This build has -5 seconds on weapon switch – so I use F1 from sword too and my traits grant me full F1 skills any time.

Wow, sounds like a good solid build, will try it later when I get home. Wish the prices of the soldier runes werent soo expensive though :P I would use fear me but the cd is just soo long, personally love that skill, makes my warrior feel intimidating haha..

Atm im using 2 knights, 2 berserker and 2 p/t/v gear, wat gear would u reccommend for this build? Im leaning towards berserker cause most of the lines taken were defensive. Also how much does that +15% stun duration actually add on? Overall im liking ur build in theory, now to see if it fits my playstyle(lack of dodging skills)

Hammer/LB + Regen Banner F1 spam ftw imo. Can combo off the LB fire field with hammer F1. Use LB to create fire field, drop banner into it with banner 5 for might or do it 2x when you first summon it then pick it up and plant, FGJ gives, put a battle sigil on one of the weapons for more might since you’ll be swapping a lot. Alternate between FGJ and Shake it Off to keep getting adrenaline, which you also get when you swap, which is CD to every 5 seconds.

Start with 3 bars of Adrenaline. You only need to 1 bar with hammer and 2 with longbow to keep it going, which you get from swapping and shouting and hitting stuff and getting hit and killing stuff and your rage signet:

Longbow F1 (Fire Field) → Arcing Shot (LB 3 Blast) → [Plant Banner if off CD for blast] → Pick up Banner → Plant Banner (Banner 5 Blast) – > FGJ → Swap to Hammer → Hammer F1 → Hammer 2 (to keep up weakness on the boss, see below) → any other hammer stuff until swap is up → Shake it Off (if you need adrenaline) Swap to Bow → get two bars of adrenaline → Repeat F1…

You will provide 18 stacks of AOE might to allies and 25 on yourself with might on swap sigil.

I use Dolyrak Runes for increased regen. Go with either soldier/knight gear, knight weapon and full zerk trinkets with maybe a knight ring or jewel to get your toughtness to 1850. No healing gear needed.

The weakness on hammer 2 + heal signet + adrenal heal + banner regen + dolyak runes and you can face tank dungeon bosses while doing the rotation. Just remember to keep the weakness up.

Wow u make it hard for me to choose a build and also I always wanted to try longbow.. Gonna make a second set to try out ur build! I especially like the part “face tank dungeon bosses” How much does dolyak runes actually add to the regen? Only thing im worried about on this build is the condition removal :/ apart from that seems like a solid build, thanks!

So, my build is a WvW build. I run with knight armor and knight weapons (power/precision/toughness ), ascended back and rings with power/toughness/critDmg because CritDmg scales well on them. Other jewels are also power/precision/toughness with rubi orbs on it (power/precision/critdmg) because critdmg scales also well on orbs.

I use this food:

And i stack up precision before fight. Without stacks I have 42% critchance + rage (20%). With stacks it is 55%+ rage.

Whirling Axe heals up to 12000HP if u are surrounded by enemies (15 hits, every can hit 5 ppl, 75% Critchance and 66% of it does lifeleach = 50% of your hits heal 337 HP). But care about interrupts and poison! Also in smaller fights the heal is preaty well.

If u don’t wanna use buff food, take war horn instead of axe or a shiled. Maybe longbow/rifle for PvE.

Damage is preaty well, hammer does heavy dmg and the chritchance with +critdmg does awesome damage according to be a tanky CC build.

@Tequilapear: +15% stun duration is more a spvp aspect.

Nonlinear’s build is also preaty well for PvE. Just try out what fits best for u!

Ahh i see, been using ur build Forestnator and last night and I love it, thanks for ur build! Of all the dungeon runs last night I was downed twice and it was only due to the fact of lag and brainless pugs haha.. I was able to face tank most of the bosses, provide buffs/heals and deal dmg. So i felt pretty useful haha!

The signet of Fury is to front load aoe stuns, you can change it out for whatever, it’s sort of a loose slot as long as you have the other 2 shouts. It’s just part of my personal play style to open with stuns so the group can bust people down.

I noticed one of the posts didn’t have Mobile strikes, and I feel that is a big mistake. It’s the only thing that will get your out of immobilize if your shouts are on cd.

I also use sword war horn with energy sigils for getting out of the middle of a zerg after I rush in for the aoe stun. To stress mobile strikes saves your rear end which is most of WvW fights against large/medium groups.

Sigils are up to your pref, I’m running bloodlust to 25 stacks, but the fire sigil is fine if your looking to proc your combo. If your dying a lot and can’t get your bloodlust stacks maxed then use the fire sigil.

The rune adds 30 hp/sec which isn’t much but if you do the math it works out to 190 healing on your signet and banner (adrenal health doesn’t get +heal). You don’t have much of a burst heal but you can regen over 500 hp/sec w/o healing gear. You gain Adrenaline when hit so if you take some damage in a dungeon it will fill your bar and you’ll regen faster.

A lot of your ability to tank depends on your group and the mobs. If you have another class putting conditions on the mobs or buffing you it helps quite a bit but if you are in a group with four glass cannons you’re still going to have to dodge properly, kite to regen if you get mobs you can’t CC and use the bow to blind and bind.
